JC Ferrer is an award-winning film composer, producer, and sound designer from Puerto Rico whose work is driven by a passion for storytelling through music. Born and raised in San Juan to a Cuban family, his musical journey began at an early age when he started studying piano under the guidance of renowned Venezuelan pianist and mentor Salim Omaña, whose influence helped shape his artistic foundation and lifelong commitment to excellence.

Over the years, Ferrer developed a diverse musical background through performance, composition, and studio production. At the age of 21, he co-founded the instrumental ensemble Tarah, releasing three albums: The Journey (2004), Voyage (2014), and Huemans (2023). Through these projects, he cultivated a distinctive musical voice that blends orchestral, ambient, electronic, and world music influences while maintaining a strong melodic identity.

In recent years, Ferrer has focused increasingly on composing for film and visual media. His credits include composer and sound designer for the award-winning short film Noche de Talentos (The Talent Show) (2025), composer for the feature film Fight Back (2026), and composer for the upcoming feature film B-Drama (2026), currently in production.

His work has earned international recognition, including an InterContinental Music Award for Best Soundtrack (2025), a Second Place Award in the Film Music Contest (2022), and a Semi-Finalist distinction in the International Songwriting Competition (2024). Through every project, Ferrer seeks to create music that deepens emotion, strengthens narrative, and helps audiences connect with the heart of a story.

Based in Puerto Rico, he continues to collaborate with filmmakers, producers, and creative teams both locally and internationally, bringing cinematic stories to life through music that is emotionally resonant, memorable, and authentic.
